Monday, September 11, 2017 will mark the sixth annual Day to Serve initiative. During this time we are given the opportunity to join others in the state of Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and the Washington D.C. area in order to collectively show positive support in our surrounding communities. To encourage staff participation, Dr. Jordan has granted that staff may use two hours of administrative leave to participate in one of many events.
We invite SMCM staff to join our waterfront clean up event being held here on campus. This event will eliminate the need for you to travel far for your day of service, and will give you a chance to enjoy one of our greatest attractions at St. Mary’s. Details for the event are as follows:
Location: James P. Muldoon River Center and Teddy Turner Waterfront
Time: Friday, September 22, 10am-12pm. Meet promptly at 10:00am to sign in.
Info: Be sure to bring a change of clothes. The waterfront staff have graciously offered to transport some staff members by boat to critical areas that need cleaning. Others can walk along the shoreline. Gloves and trash bags will be provided.
